Marco Salazar – Senior Back End Developer
Marco is a software developer that has had the opportunity to work on various technologies and projects but has focused on Microsoft technologies for the last seven years. He enjoys the day-to-day challenges that make him think in new ways as well as the technologies that help him solve these challenges. He also enjoys running, going to the movies, traveling, cooking, watching sports, and spending time with family and friends
Where’s your hometown? – I was born and raised in San Jose, Costa Rica.
What’s your spirit animal? – I love dogs, especially golden retrievers.
Favorite place you’ve traveled to? – If I had to pick, it would be Prague.
How many years have you worked in your field? – 10+ years.
Best advice you have received personally or professionally? – Never settle!
If you could perform on stage with one famous musician/group, who would it be and why? – Foo fighters, as they’re my favorite rock band. Sometimes they call a person out of the audience to perform with them!
How do you spend your free time? – When I’m not running/biking/swimming/Pilates, I love to go to the movies, travel anywhere, cook, or just stay at home watching Netflix.
If you could travel back in time to any period in history, when would it be? – The 60s-70s. Life seemed simpler and still with some of the goodies we have today.
What is your guilty pleasure TV show? – Breaking Bad!
Best childhood memory? – Summer vacations, long days at the park, and being at a friend’s house playing soccer.
Where do you go to relax and recharge? – Anywhere outside of SJ (better if it has a beach!)
What made you want to work at Gorilla Logic? – The talented people that work at Gorilla Logic and the culture.
Best advice when heading into an interview? – Stay calm, be prepared, and elaborate on yourself (never answer with a single yes/no).
