Susan McTaggart 

Susan is from a small town in Nebraska who ventured out west to Colorado to enjoy the mountains and the dry air. She comes with over 2 years of Technical Recruiting at a small, locally based Denver recruiting firm. While she is not at work, she loves to run, walk her dog, read, test out her newly found cooking skills, hike, rollerblade and snowboard. 

Where’s your hometown? – Emerson, NE – population 817

What’s your spirit animal? – Dog

Best advice you have received personally or professionally? – “Live like a duck. Calm and cool on the outside, but paddling like crazy underneath.”

If you could perform on stage with one famous musician/group, who would it be and why? – Queen, because I’m a “Killer Queen” and “The Show Must Go On” even while “Under Pressure”

If you could travel back in time to any period in history, when would it be? – The early 1900s to see how technology progressed so much and started changing the world

Where do you go to relax and recharge? – The mountains

Best advice when heading into an interview? – Remember it’s just a conversation about how you can provide your value

Now that you have greater insight on the world (maybe;)), what would you go back and tell your 18 year old self? – Always be open and available to letting life happen

What qualities make someone successful in the tech world? – Curious, open-minded, passionate, adaptable and VERY smart

Sophia Parnell

Sophia was born and raised in Denver, attending Denver School of the Arts (DSA), ranked by the U.S. News & World Report as one of the best high schools in Colorado. While at DSA, she was a member of the speech and debate team, vocal jazz ensemble and various all school musicals. This fall, she will begin the second year of her undergraduate career at Santa Clara University (SCU), where she is currently pursuing a double major in Marketing and Music. At SCU, she is involved in two choirs, as well as Igwebuike, the black student union.
