Oscar David Rodríguez Young – Senior Back End Engineer
Oscar is one of Gorilla Logic’s talented Senior Back End Engineers. He has been working in software development for over six years. When he isn’t busy being a Gorilla, Oscar likes to travel, hike and play video games.
Where’s your hometown? – San José, Costa Rica.
Favorite place you’ve traveled to? – The Czech Republic. I lived there for two years there and it feels like home every time I visit it.
How many years have you worked in your field? – Over six years now.
Best advice you have received personally or professionally? – “Life starts at the end of your comfort zone.” Although it is a cliché, after hearing this from an English teacher, it kicked off a series of events resulting in me moving to the Czech Republic.
How do you spend your free time? – Traveling, hiking, playing video games and going out with friends.
Where do you go to relax and recharge? – To the mountains or the beach.
What’s one of your most embarrassing memories? – I am really good at tripping and falling, so I have a bunch of those.
What made you want to work at Gorilla Logic? – The opportunity presented itself and it looked really good.
What is your personal motto? – “Pacta sunt servanda” which means, agreements must be kept.
