Rodrigo Paris — Frontend Web Developer

Rodrigo is one of our incredible Frontend Web Developers here at Gorilla Logic. He has been working in Development for just over 6 years. Rodrigo has a passion for development, he has always loved solving logical questions and providing efficient and effective solutions. When Rodrigo is off the clock he loves to spend his time gaming, playing the guitar, learning about new technologies, or jumping into personal projects.

Where’s your hometown? I am from San Jose, Costa Rica!

What’s your spirit animal? I think my spirit animal is the octopus 

Favorite place you’ve traveled to? I love to travel to the Mountains to get out in nature and relax. 

How many years have you worked in your field? I have been working in development for just over 6 years now!

Best advice you have received personally or professionally? “Nothing ever just happens, you have to make it happen.”

What is an underrated product that you believe deserves more attention? I think the most underrated product has to be Vue.js, really doesn’t get enough credit. 

If you could perform on stage with one famous musician/group, who would it be and why? I would love to perform with Clapton, I really like his style and I’ve studied a lot of his songs. 

How do you spend your free time? During my free time, I love to play video games, play the guitar, learning new technologies, or developing my own projects!

If you could travel back in time to any period in history, when would it be? I would travel back to  1800-1900 just so I could see Nikola Tesla in his prime. 

What made you want to work at Gorilla Logic? The working environment is unique, very supportive, a lot of benefits, and I have made some great friends here. 

What was one of the most rewarding leadership positions you have had? I had the opportunity to work as the Chief of Mobile Development and Investigation, it was incredible. 

Best advice when heading into an interview? Stay calm, study if you need to, remain confident of what you know, and don’t be embarrassed about what you don’t know. 

Best advice when meeting with a client? Same as the interview

Now that you have greater insight on the world (maybe;)), what would you go back and tell your 18-year-old self? Don’t waste time, go after what you want out of life. 

What motivated you to pursue working in your current field? I always really liked solving logical problems and providing efficient and effective solutions. 

What qualities make someone successful in the tech world? Being able to adapt quickly while always being courteous.
