Juan David Bedoya Garcia — Senior Java Software Engineer
Juan is a Senior Java Software Engineer here at Gorilla Logic. He has been working in Development for over 17 years. In his free time, Juan loves to play ping pong, go to movies, and is constantly pushing himself to learn new things, but his favorite pass time is spending time with his family. He also loves to visit the beautiful beaches around Costa Rica to relax and recharge.
Where’s your hometown? – I am from a town called Andes, near Medellin in Colombia.
Favorite place you’ve traveled to? – Japan, it was like going to another planet!
How many years have you worked in your field? – I started working as a Java developer in 2004, so I have been working in development for 17 years!
How do you spend your free time? – I love to play ping pong, going to the movies, I also like to challenge myself and learn new things currently it is home automation, but the majority of my free time is spent with my family.
If you could travel back in time to any period in history, when would it be? – I missed my child’s birth because I was in Costa Rica and my wife was in Colombia, I would have loved to have been there with her.
What is your guilty pleasure TV show? – Lately, I’ve been enjoying The Amazing World of Gumball on the cartoon network.
Best childhood memory? – When a close friend of the family took me to meet some players from my favorite football team!
Where do you go to relax and recharge? – I like to go to the beach to recharge. Luckily, living in Costa Rica I can do this all the time.
What made you want to work at Gorilla Logic? – A friend of mine was working at Gorilla Logic and he told me about how happy he was working for Gorilla Logic and what a great company it is.
What is your personal motto? – The worst task is the one that is not done.
What is your most used tool in your office? – Apart from my brain, or the computer… a cup of coffee.
Who are the biggest cheerleaders in your life? – My family; my mother, my wife, and my child.
Best advice when heading into an interview? – Be confident, be secure in who you are, and that you have the skills that they need.
