Much like a pod of whales or a pack of wolves, did you know that a group of gorillas is called a band? Are you Gorilla material? Join the band today!
Gabrielajoined the Gorilla family as a QA Developer, preventing the production of software bugs. She has been involved in software quality and business analysis for 9 years. One of her main goals is to help provide customers with the solutions they need. In her free time Gabriela enjoys dancing, latin music, and cooking for her family and friends. Gabriela loves spending time with her husband Pablo, daughter Giuliana, son Nicolás, and their two dogs, Alana and Sofia.
Where’s your hometown? – Mata de Platano in Costa Rica. My family and I enjoy this rural area more than an urban environment.
What’s your spirit animal? – Deer.
Best advice you have received personally or professionally? – “People will come and go, but family is forever.” “Always surround yourself with good, positive and smart people, they will pull you up. Others will just drain your energy.”
How do you spend your free time? – I spend most of my free time with my family. We like to go to parks, beaches, volcanoes and waterfalls outside of the city or we just stay home watching a movie or playing a board game.
If you could travel back in time to any period in history, when would it be? – I would like to go back in time to see dinosaurs. My daughter is so excited about this period in history. I’d love to see her face to face with a dinosaur, an herbivore, of course.
What is your guilty pleasure TV show? – Friends and The Walking Dead. I’ve watched Friends since high school. I can still laugh at the same episodes again and again. I am currently a big fan of TWD. I thought zombies were not my thing, then I saw one episode with my husband. We are counting down the days until the new season starts.
What made you want to work at Gorilla Logic? – What caught my attention, since the very beginning, was the recruiting process. The recruiter demonstrated an amazing passion for her job and the company. This made it easy to make a decision and accept the offer. The clients, other Gorillas, technology, and benefits are big plus.
Best advice when heading into an interview? – Always be yourself, but remember to keep it professional – an interview is still a business conversation.
Now that you have greater insight on the world (maybe;)), what would you go back and tell your 18 year old self? – Everyone has their own battles, so be nice, listen and smile! It can change someone’s life.
