Juan Diego Garita Segura
Juan Diego, a.k.a. JD is one of Gorilla Logic’s talented Android Engineers. He likes to spend time with his family, play video games, and play soccer. Juan Diego seeks new challenges that help him develop new skills and strengthen those he already possesses. He believes there is always room for self-improvement, both personally and professionally.
Where’s your hometown? – Heredia, Costa Rica.
Best advice you have received personally or professionally? – Try to learn something new every single day.
If you could perform on stage with one famous musician/group, who would it be and why? – I would like to play the drums with Blink 182 or the Red Hot Chili Peppers because they have a lot of energy and have kept their style throughout the years.
Where do you go to relax and recharge? – I love the cold weather and go on camping trips with friends. Luckily I live close to a beautiful mountain in Heredia called “El Monte de la Cruz”.
What made you want to work at Gorilla Logic? – I heard many good things about Gorilla Logic from colleagues. When the recruiting process was over, I was convinced this was the place I wanted to be.
What is your most used tool in your office? – The chat tool, because communication is very important to me.
Who are the biggest cheerleaders in your life? – My Family.
What motivated you to pursue working in your current field? – I spent my whole childhood among computers, so I think that made a big impact on me. I have a lot of memories, like holding a lamp while my father was changing the RAM of his old computer with Windows 95.
What qualities make someone successful in the tech world? – A good attitude, being proactive, and organizational skills.
