Jen is a stellar technical recruiter at Gorilla Logic. With over 5 years of Gorilla life under her belt, she doesn’t monkey around. Jen builds solid relationships with her candidates and assures that they find the perfect spot at Gorilla Logic. Jen is always on the look-out for amazing talent, new technologies and clothing items with bananas on them. She likes to explore the beauty of Colorado and Costa Rica in her free time. Jen is a Coloradan by birth and a Tica-Coloradan at heart (That’s a thing. She promises).
Where’s your hometown? – I’m one of the few natives left in this state! I grew up in Aurora, Colorado.
What’s your spirit animal? – My fellow recruiters have compared me to a squirrel numerous times, so I guess I’ll go with that.
Best advice you have received personally or professionally? – Always listen more than you speak – applies well professionally and personally.
How do you spend your free time? – Hiking, fishing, watching movies and snuggling my dogs. I also enjoy fixing things around my house and attempting to build and create in various mediums.
Where do you go to relax and recharge? – Rocky Mountain National Park.
What is your most used tool in your office? – Slack and the coffee machines.
Something that your LinkedIn profile couldn’t tell us? – I was a bartender for 15 years and I make a mean cocktail.
Best advice when meeting with a client? – Everyone’s objective in a client meeting is the same – figure out the solution to a problem. Go in with honesty, transparency, and confidence in what you can provide.
What motivated you to pursue working in your current field? – I love meeting new people and helping them find something they can be passionate about. I am fulfilled when I build sincere relationships with amazing geeks and get to watch them thrive at Gorilla Logic.
What qualities make someone successful in the tech world? – Tenacity, the desire to constantly learn, and being open to a fast changing atmosphere. I think a good sense of humor is also essential…you can’t take yourself too seriously and survive the industry.
