Daniel Ching is one of Gorilla Logic’s talented Java engineers. He has been working in the IT industry 6 years. Daniel graduated from Cenfotec and Universidad Latina de Costa Rica. Since then, he has worked at multiple IT companies using many different technologies and frameworks. Daniel likes sports a lot, he trains every morning. He also enjoys watching TV shows and movies or playing video games.
Where’s your hometown? – I’m from a town called Sabanilla near UCR, which is the most important university in Costa Rica.
Favorite place you’ve traveled to? – I have had opportunities to travel to many places and to choose one of them is difficult. I think maybe Zurich, Switzerland is my favorite place.
How do you spend your free time? – My free time is actually spent training for triathlon events during the year, which is my biggest hobby.
Where do you go to relax and recharge? – I have a lot of fun, wherever I am.
What made you want to work at Gorilla Logic? – The main reasons I chose Gorilla are the technologies used and the projects. The projects are different than what I have been doing the past years. The environment and flexibility that Gorilla provides are also sufficient reasons to choose Gorilla.
Best advice when heading into an interview? – Prepare yourself, be confident and try to expose all your strengthens as much as you can.
What motivated you to pursue working in your current field? – Actually, since I was in school, computer science was always one of my favorite subjects. I always wanted to study Software Engineering.
What qualities make someone successful in the tech world? – I think being a fast learner, team player and just enjoying what you do makes you a great asset in the tech world.
