Stu Stern

Co-Founder & Board Member

Stu co-founded Gorilla Logic in 2002, after serving as founding VP of the Sun Java Center, Sun Microsystems’ global Java professional services organization. As VP of Equity Trading Systems Technology at PaineWebber (now UBS), he led the firm’s trading floor into the digital era. While living in NYC, Stu also fronted the 80s techno band, Strategic Dance Initiative (fans are still hoping for a comeback tour).

Ed Schwarz

Ed has been delivering software systems for an undisclosed number of years. Before co-founding Gorilla Logic, he was Director of eBusiness Consulting at Sun Microsystems.

Michael Dougherty

Board Member

Michael Dougherty serves as a strategic partner to Gorilla Logic’s management team, providing financial and operational guidance as the company continues to expand its international footprint. As Vice President of Sverica Capital, he focuses on sourcing and evaluating new investment opportunities, transaction execution, and portfolio company support.

Richard Troksa

Board Member

Richard J. Troksa is an accomplished board director, CEO advisor, and former chief executive with a distinguished record of scaling technology companies and driving high-value exits. With deep experience across SaaS, enterprise software, services, and communications, he is recognized for strategic insight, operational rigor, and an ability to unlock shareholder value through innovation and disciplined execution.

He currently serves on the boards of Quadient SA, Gryphon Networks, Gorilla Logic, and 7Rivers, where he advises on strategy, go-to-market performance, technology innovation, and executive development. Previously, he led Exstream Software as CEO, guiding its recapitalization and successful acquisition by Hewlett-Packard.  As Founder of Gold Aspen Executive Consulting, Troksa partners with boards and private equity firms on growth, transformation, and M&A strategy. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and a Master of Science in Engineering from Colorado State University.

Scott Darby

Board Member

Scott Darby is a results-driven transformation executive with more than 20 years of business building experience in operator, investor, and board member roles. He currently serves as a Senior Advisor and Operating Partner for New Catalyst, where he and the New Catalyst team partner with GPs to implement firm formation best practices and accelerate portfolio company performance. Previously, Scott led portfolio value creation efforts focused on market-leading software and enterprise technology across funds at TPG. In his roles, he underwrote deals and executed business-building efforts, partnering closely with company management teams to build healthy thriving businesses. In addition to portfolio transformation, he focused on specialized due diligence, board service, deal sourcing, and building TPG’s scaled operating capabilities. 

Before TPG, Scott held diversified operating roles with Vista Equity Partners, Forcepoint, and AT&T. Scott and his family are also passionate about serving inner-city children, partnering with nonprofit organizations around the world on mentoring, necessities provisioning, and education programs to help students and families of diverse backgrounds thrive.

Scott earned an MBA with high honors and a concentration in entrepreneurship from The University of Texas at Austin. He also earned a BSBA in Marketing with Summa Cum Laude honors from the University of Missouri at Columbia.
