David Sanchez – Senior DevOps Engineer
David is one of Gorilla Logic’s talented Senior DevOps Engineers. He studied Computer Science and Computer Systems Engineering and has 7 years of experience with Intel Corporation in DevOps, Development, and Systems Engineering. His hobbies include gaming, traveling, photography and cats.
Where’s your hometown? – Curridabat, San Jose.
Favorite place you’ve traveled to? – The island of Murano near Venice, Italy. Colorful and unique.
How many years have you worked in your field? – I have been working in Computer Systems and Science Engineering for 7 years.
Best advice you have received personally or professionally? – “The mediocre student never surpasses his teacher.”
How do you spend your free time? – I spend my free time gaming, traveling, and reading science and fiction/fantasy books.
What was one of the most rewarding leadership positions you have had? – I was previously a Product Owner for a corporation where I lead a product that enabled customers and partners to be aware of their environment and set standards globally. This was done with a large team from recent graduates to experienced engineers. It was an enriching opportunity that taught me a lot of useful lessons for my professional career.
What motivated you to pursue working in your current field? – My family bought a computer a long time ago with Windows 95 and ever since then I have been using computers and technology.
What qualities make someone successful in the tech world? – Trust, learning, ambition and, resiliency.
